AI Caramba!

In 2015, I was faced with a choice of cutting-edge tech on which to do a Master’s thesis. I looked around: AI, IoT, Blockchain. In 2023, I’m kicking myself for having chosen blockchain. I wasted years getting deep into a tech which has been revealed to have been niche at best, and many years away from being adopted in any meaningful way.

Also in 2023: AI has exploded.

So, here we are, looking at the annihilation of nearly half of all software engineering jobs. The only good play now is to get into AI. So that’s what I’m going to do.

I have a strong tech background, so learning this all should be a question of application rather than ability. I’m going to document all the things I discover in this newsletter. Let’s see where we get to in one year.
